Privacy policy
What this app stores about you, why it stores it, and how to have it removed. Written from the database schema rather than from a template.
DeVOLT has no accounts and no signup form. To use the app you connect a wallet; markets, your positions, their health factor and your balances need nothing more, and the documentation pages need no wallet at all. Using the app asks for one free signature (it moves no funds). Nothing below is collected until you do something that needs it, which in practice means signing in, or opening, closing or changing a position.
What is stored
- your wallet address
- Recorded in lowercase when you open, close or change a position. It is what ties a position history to you, and it is already public on the chain. Your DeVOLT history and your equity curve are private to the signed wallet: they are shown only to a browser that has signed in with that wallet, and the same "sign in" answer is given for every other address, so nobody can tell from DeVOLT whether an address has a history here.
- your sign-in
- Signing in is one free signed message (it moves no funds) that accepts the Terms and proves the wallet is yours. DeVOLT stores a terms-acceptance record for it: the wallet address, the Terms version, the chain, the exact message you signed, the signature and the time. There is one record per signature, not one per wallet: a new one is added every time you sign, which includes signing in from another browser or device, signing again after signing out or after the session expired, and signing a new version of the Terms. Records are kept as the legal record of what you accepted and are never rewritten. Your browser gets a random device identifier in a cookie the page cannot read (only its hash is stored), and the session it holds lasts about a month, renewed while you use it. Signing out ends it on this device or everywhere.
- your position history
- Records of actions you took, keyed to your wallet address: the market and the transaction, so the app can show you a history rather than only a present. The amounts, tokens and times shown are read back from the transaction on the chain; the figures your browser reports (leverage, health factor, equity) are not stored. Older records may also carry the leverage and health factor at the time.
- your daily equity
- For a wallet that has opened, closed or changed a position through DeVOLT, one reading a day of what its positions were worth, with the collateral and debt behind it, so the equity curve is a measurement rather than a reconstruction.
- your network address
- Kept briefly in a rate limiting counter held in the memory of the server, so that one source cannot exhaust a shared resource such as price quotes. It is discarded when the counting window passes.
What is not stored
There is no advertising, no third party analytics, and no tracking across other sites. Your private keys never reach this application at all: signing happens inside your wallet, and the app receives only the result. DeVOLT no longer collects an email address, a phone number or a messaging account. Nothing here profiles you or is sold.
Why it is stored
Each item above exists to make one feature work, and none of it is collected speculatively in case it proves useful later. A history needs the wallet it belongs to. A rate limiting counter that has aged out has nothing to count.
How long it is kept
Rate limiting counters expire with their window. A sign-in session ends after about a month without use, or when you sign out. Position history and daily equity persist while you use the feature, and are removed on request. There is no separate archive that survives a deletion. The terms-acceptance records are kept, as the legal record of what was accepted.
Having your data removed
Ask, and your position history, your daily equity and your sign-in sessions will be deleted. One thing is kept on purpose: the signed terms-acceptance records (the wallet address, the Terms version, the signed message, the signature and the time), because they are the legal record of what you agreed to. Note the other limit honestly: activity you performed on a public blockchain is not ours to erase, and it remains visible on chain regardless of what this application stores.
Who else sees it
Loading the app means requests for chain data and price quotes reach public node providers and price aggregators, some from your browser and some through DeVOLT’s servers, as with any application of this kind. Those parties have their own policies and DeVOLT does not control them.
